FREEZE!!!

A good routine in the classroom has things changing up every 8-12 minutes, sometimes even quicker.

And every music class should take some time out to DANCE. The youngest classes love an old fashioned "Freeze Dance". We'd organize it so that the students who are caught moving would become judges. We also would forgive the people who move quite often. Students could hit the on/off space bar on the computer keyboard that would run the audio. Sometimes I would sneak a ballet piece on and call for interpretive dancing.
Another favorite is the "Cha Cha Slide". Oh yeah. Guess who was always the smoothest cha-cha dancer? That's right, your favorite music teacher had the best moves.
